Meet the Team
Navigation Games is the work of many hands. Hundreds of staff, volunteers, visiting orienteers and teens have taught classes, made maps, designed courses and shaped our programs. Here are our key contributors; see also our Board of Directors page.
Our team

Maija Pratt
Executive Director
Maija joined Navigation Games in 2022, after working for 20 years in finance. She brings expertise in strategic planning, project and people management, operations and a British sense of humor. She is passionate about encouraging youth to get moving, get outside and to have fun in their community. As a mum of two active teenagers, she has been involved with multiple youth sports, youth organizations and schools for more than 15 years.

Izzy Lazenby
Program Manager
Izzy Lazenby is a Brown University graduate with a background spanning wilderness field guiding, elementary teaching, and program operations. She spent a summer as a field guide with Aspiro Adventure Therapy and later taught English to young children in France. Izzy joined Navigation Games in June 2026, excited to share a personal passion for the experience of getting lost and finding your way back.

Erkan Sezgin
Program Staff
Erkan was born and raised in Turkey, and after traveling the world, he eventually found his way to Boston, guided not by an ordinary compass, but one that follows the heart, as he likes to say.
He discovered orienteering while serving in the Turkish Air Force, and it quickly became more than a sport - it became a way of life. He spent years on Turkey’s national team and coached athletes who competed internationally.
Through schools, camps, and outdoor clubs, Erkan has introduced countless people to the thrill of map and compass navigation. Along the way, he’s shared his culture, explored others, and built bridges across communities.
Now, with Navigation Games, he’s helping the next generation discover that sometimes, getting a little lost in the woods is the best way to find yourself.

Mikayla Moss
Conference Workshops and Grants Management
Mikayla is the former Program Manager at Navigation Games and now manages conference workshops and grants, working remotely. Originally from Colorado, Mikayla's background is in natural resources and conservation science. She was formerly the program manager and executive director for a conservation organization in Montana, and brings her passion for outdoor activity and education to Navigation Games.
Mikayla loves bikepacking, paddling, and backpacking with her partner.

Barb Bryant
President
Barb got started by volunteering in her kids' classrooms in Cambridge, MA, and one thing led to another. She is now the President of Navigation Games and her focus is to bring orienteering into schools and to every child in the city. Barb is also the former Vice President of Youth Initiatives for Orienteering USA. Barb believes that orienteering teaches kids how to make good decisions: to think and act at the same time in a concerted way.
